Press Sit-Up
Core · Barbell
How to do it
Lie on a bench with your feet anchored and a barbell resting on your chest, gripped at shoulder width. Curl up until you are sitting and, at the top, **press the bar overhead** to locked elbows; lower it to your chest and lie back slowly. It is a sit-up and a military press chained together, so coordination matters as much as strength. The classic mistake is pressing before you are fully upright: you sit up first, then you press.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
