Plate Twist

How to do it
Sit on the floor with your legs straight and your torso upright, holding a plate by its sides with both hands in front of your chest. Lean back slightly and **rotate your torso taking the plate from side to side**, touching the floor each side if you can reach. Slowly: what works here is control of the rotation, not speed. Rest your heels down if you need to. The classic mistake is moving only your arms with your chest square: your chest turns with your hands, or the obliques never notice.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
