One-Arm Side Deadlift
Legs · Barbell
How to do it
Stand **beside the bar**, level with its centre. Bend your knees and lower with a flat back until you can grip it with the hand on that side, roughly in the middle. Stand by extending hips and knees keeping your torso upright and not letting it tip towards the weight. It is a deadlift and an anti-side-bend at once: the whole opposite flank works to keep you straight. **Alternate sides.** The classic mistake is rotating your torso to follow the bar instead of keeping it square.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
