Narrow Stance Squats
Legs · Barbell
How to do it
A barbell squat with your feet **closer than shoulder width**, roughly hip width with toes slightly out. Descend sending your hips back and down with your chest up, past parallel if your ankle mobility allows. The narrow stance lengthens the range and loads the quads more, but **it asks for more ankle mobility**: if your heels lift, use raised-heel shoes or widen your feet slightly. The classic mistake is forcing depth and finishing with your pelvis tucked under.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
