Lying Triceps Press
Triceps · Barbell
How to do it
Lie on a flat bench with an EZ bar — kinder to the wrist than a straight one — gripped overhand with your hands close, arms straight over your chest. **With the elbows anchored**, lower the bar towards your forehead bending only the forearms and extend, squeezing for a second at the top. It is the classic skull crusher and the triceps exercise with the most useful range there is. The classic mistake is letting the elbows drift back for more weight: if the upper arm travels, the triceps rest.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
