Lying Machine Squat
Legs · Machine
How to do it
Set the machine so you can get in with your knees bent and your thighs slightly below parallel. Back against the pad and feet on the platform at shoulder width. Drive through your heels until the knees are almost straight, **without snapping them locked**, and lower under control to the start. It is a squat with no load on your spine, so it is the way to work the quads when your back has had enough. The classic mistake is letting your hips peel off the pad at the bottom.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
