Lying Cambered Barbell Row
Back · Barbell
How to do it
Put a cambered bar under a bench and lie face down on it, gripping overhand wider than your shoulders. The bench holds your chest: there is no way to cheat with the hips. Row the bar to your chest or belly with the elbows close to the body, squeeze the blades for a second at the top and lower to a full stretch. A cambered bar lets you go deeper than a straight one because it clears the bench. The classic mistake is loading it like a standing row: with no momentum, the useful weight is a lot lighter.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
