How to do it
Set the seat so the handles sit just above you, and the pad so it holds your thighs down. Overhand grip, arms extended overhead. Pull the handles to your torso with the elbows going down and back and the shoulder blades squeezing; hold a second and return letting the shoulder stretch, without the plates resting. The high angle trains the lat through its long range while the machine holds you. The classic mistake is not setting the pad: if your body lifts, every rep is half a rep.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
