Kettlebell Seated Press
Shoulders · Kettlebell
How to do it
Sit on the floor with your legs out and comfortably apart. Clean a kettlebell to your shoulder and press it up and slightly out to a locked elbow overhead; lower under control to the shoulder. Sitting on the floor **removes your legs and hips**: there is no way to drive or to arch your lower back, so the press is all shoulder. It doubles as a mobility test. The classic mistake is leaning back to get the bell through: if you lean, you are short on mobility and that needs work first.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
