Isometric Neck Exercise - Sides
Shoulders · Bodyweight
How to do it
Head in a neutral position. Put your left hand on the left side of your head and push gently to the left while your neck resists, **without the head tilting**. Hold for a few seconds, release slowly and repeat on the other side. It is the same isometric work as the front-and-back version but in the side plane, which is usually the neglected one. The classic mistake is letting the head give a little: as soon as it moves it stops being isometric and the neck works in a range it does not control.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
