Incline Barbell Triceps Extension

How to do it

Lie on an incline bench with a barbell gripped overhand slightly closer than shoulder width, arms straight over your face. **With the elbows anchored pointing up and slightly back**, lower the bar to your forehead or past your head and extend. The incline puts the upper arm behind vertical, so the long head starts stretched. The classic mistake is letting the elbow drift forward as you extend: if it travels, the triceps lose tension at the top.

Variants

The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
