Heaving Snatch Balance
Legs · Barbell
How to do it
This is a drill for learning to drop under in the snatch. Bar on your upper back with a **very wide grip**, feet slightly wider than your hips. Dip a few centimetres and drive up with your legs while **dropping under the bar** into a deep squat, receiving it with straight arms. Stand up. What you are practising is the speed of getting down, not strength. **Light weight.** The classic mistake is pressing the bar up with your arms instead of dropping your body.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
