Good Morning off Pins
Legs · Barbell
How to do it
Bar on the rack pins at about stomach height. Step under and rest it on your upper back; from there, **already bent over**, extend your hips to lift the bar off the pins until you are standing, then set it back down. Every rep starts from a dead stop in the hardest position, with no bounce and no stretch to help. **Light weight and a flat back, always.** The classic mistake is starting by pulling with the lower back: you start by bracing and opening the hips.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
