Front Barbell Squat To A Bench

How to do it

A front squat with a bench behind you at the depth you want. Bar resting on your front delts with your elbows very high, torso upright. Descend sending your hips back until you brush the bench and sit for an instant, without relaxing, and stand. A front squat already forces an upright torso; the bench also fixes the depth. You feel the quads and the upper back holding position. The classic mistake is dropping your elbows as you sit: the moment they fall, the bar slides forward.

Variants

The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
