Dumbbell Raise
Shoulders · Dumbbell · ×2 dumbbells
You hold two: the weight you log is ONE dumbbell's, and volume counts both.
How to do it
Standing with a dumbbell in each hand at your sides, elbows slightly bent and back tall. Raise your arms **forward and out at the same time**, on a diagonal, to shoulder height, and lower slowly. That angle between a front raise and a lateral shares the work between the front and side delt, and it is the plane in which the shoulder moves most comfortably. The classic mistake is momentum: if the dumbbells bounce off your thighs at the bottom, your hips are lifting them.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
