Deadlift with Bands
Back · Barbell
How to do it
A deadlift with bands running from the bar to the floor or the base of the rack. The setup is the usual one: bar centred over your feet, hips back, flat back, big breath and push the floor away. What changes is the curve: **at the bottom you lift what is on the bar and at the top much more**, because the band fights you exactly where a deadlift gets easy. You feel the glutes and lower back at lockout. The classic mistake is loading the bar as if the bands were not there and stalling halfway.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
