Cable Seated Lateral Raise
Shoulders · Cable
How to do it
Put a flat bench between two opposing low pulleys and sit in the middle. Take each cable with the opposite hand so they cross underneath. With the elbow slightly bent, raise your arms out to the sides to shoulder height and lower slowly without losing tension. Seated you cannot use your legs or swing, and crossed over the cables pull from the very bottom: it is the strictest lateral raise there is. The classic mistake is going above shoulder height; the range ends when the arm is parallel to the floor.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
