Cable Incline Pushdown
Back · Cable
How to do it
Lie face up on an incline bench with your back to a high pulley fitted with a straight bar. Grab the bar overhead with an overhand shoulder-width grip and extend your arms in front of you. With the elbows **locked and nearly straight**, sweep the bar in an arc down towards your thighs using only the shoulder; squeeze the lats for a second at the bottom and return slowly. It is a cable pullover: it isolates the lats with no biceps involved. The classic mistake is bending the elbow, which turns it into a triceps pushdown — literally a different exercise.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
