Cable Chest Press
Chest · Cable
How to do it
Sit with the pulleys at chest height and a handle in each hand, elbows around 90 degrees and arms about 45 degrees from the torso, not out in a T. Chest up and shoulder blades pinched before you start. Press forward until your hands almost meet, hold a second and come back **without** letting the stack touch down: the point of a cable is that there is no rest anywhere. You should feel tension at the top too, where a bench press gets easy. The classic mistake is letting the blades spread as you press; when they go, the shoulder takes over.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
