Bodyweight Walking Lunge

How to do it

Stand with feet at shoulder width and hands on your hips. Take a long step forward, dropping straight down until the back knee nearly touches the floor; drive through the front heel and bring the other leg through for the next step. Unloaded you can do long sets, and this is where you learn the pattern before adding weight. You feel quads, glutes and balance. The classic mistake is shortening the step as you tire: that is when the knee travels past the foot and starts to complain.

Variants

The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
