Barbell Walking Lunge
Legs · Barbell
How to do it
Bar on your upper back and feet at shoulder width. Take a long step forward, dropping straight down until the back knee nearly brushes the floor, and instead of stepping back, **drive through the front heel and bring the back leg through** into the next step. That is how you travel. You feel quads, glutes and balance. The classic mistake is looking at the floor just ahead of your feet: eyes forward is what keeps your torso tall and stops you falling forward step by step.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
