Barbell Step Ups

How to do it
Bar on your upper back and a box in front, at a height that leaves your thigh parallel when you step on it. Step up placing **your whole foot** on the box and driving through that heel until you are standing on top; lower under control with the other leg. Do all reps on one side or alternate, but do not push off with the bottom leg: if you hop, the working leg is not working. The classic mistake is too high a box, which makes you lean forward and hands the load to your lower back.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
